Husband pushed his wife from a moving train to get rid of her and take her fortune — but he had no idea what would happen just minutes later…
The train was slowly crossing an old railway bridge over a deep canyon. Far below, the river roared, and the wind whistled between the carriages, making the metal structure creak softly. A few passengers stood by the windows, gazing at the mountains bathed in the glow of the setting sun.
Marina stepped onto the narrow platform between the cars. She leaned against the cold railing and closed her eyes for a moment, trying to quiet her thoughts. Behind her, her husband’s figure appeared.
Alexei approached almost silently.
“Magnificent, isn’t it?” he said calmly.
Marina gave a faint smile and looked down.
“Very… It’s even a little frightening. Look how high it is.”
Her husband moved even closer. Too close.
For a few seconds he remained silent, as if gathering his thoughts. Then he said quietly:
“You know… sometimes life makes everything much simpler than we think.”
Marina frowned and turned toward him.
“What do you mean?”
But she never heard the answer.
In the next moment, Alexei shoved her violently with both hands.
Marina didn’t even have time to scream. Her body instantly disappeared over the railing and dissolved into the void beneath the bridge. Only her pale-pink dress floated in the air for a second before vanishing below.
The train kept moving.
Alexei stood frozen, breathless. He glanced quickly around — the platform was empty. The carriage door behind him trembled slightly in the wind.
“It’s over…” he muttered. “It’s over.”
He smoothed his jacket, stepped back a few paces, and opened the carriage door.
But at that very moment, something unbelievable happened. From the end of the corridor, he heard a voice.
“Excuse me… were you on the platform?”
Alexei froze.
A man in his forties stood in front of him, holding a camera.
“I film my travels for a blog,” he said calmly. “Incredible bridge… I just recorded a video through the window.”
He slightly raised the camera.
“And I think… the video shows everything that just happened.”
A chill ran down Alexei’s spine.
“The train will stop at a station soon,” the man added quietly. “I think… we should talk to the conductor.”
Alexei didn’t reply. He didn’t yet know that the worst was still ahead of him.
Because beneath the bridge, something unexpected was happening.
For several long seconds, Marina fell into the emptiness. The wind lashed her face, the air stung her nose. But right under the bridge flowed a wide mountain river.
Her body hit the water with incredible force.
The cold pierced her from head to toe. For a moment she lost consciousness, but the current carried her back to the surface. Marina gasped desperately for air, struggling to stay afloat.
On the nearby shore stood a fishing boat. Two men first heard the splash, then noticed a woman in the water.
“Someone’s in the water! Quick!” one of them shouted.
They steered the boat toward her and within minutes pulled Marina aboard. She was pale, trembling from the cold — but alive.
“Who did this to you?” one of the fishermen asked, covering her with a jacket.
Marina slowly opened her eyes.
“My husband…” she whispered.
Meanwhile, the train was approaching the next station. Alexei stood by the window, trying to remain calm.
He didn’t know that the woman he had just pushed off the bridge had miraculously survived… and that the police would soon be waiting for him on the platform.
